Managing Hazard Classifications

Note: This feature is available only to administrators.

A hazard classification is a list of items that indicate various product hazards or safety measures, such as "Carcinogen" or "Keep away from heat." Each item may have a brief name or ID code, a short description, a long description, and/or a symbol or pictogram. To record a product's hazards, you assign the appropriate classification items when editing the product's hazard classifications. Each item you assign is shown to any user viewing the product's Hazard Information display.

DolphinRTK provides a number of official hazard classifications from regulatory agencies, such as the UN's GHS (Globally Harmonized System) Hazard Statements and Canada's WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Identification System) Pictograms. When your company needs other classifications in addition to these, you can create your own. User-created hazard classifications are assigned to products just like the official ones; you can also edit them as needed, and delete them when they are no longer useful.
